What if the shipment is damaged?

Inspection of Shipment Upon Receipt and Claims for Damaged Goods

The buyer is obliged to check the condition of the shipment upon receiving it from the carrier. If the package is damaged or shows signs of careless handling, the buyer must:

  • inspect the goods at the time of receipt,
  • record any damage on the shipping document,
  • complete a damage report with the carrier,
  • or, if necessary, refuse to accept the shipment.

Without a proper damage report and photographic documentation, it will not be possible to acknowledge a claim for damage that occurred during transport.
